Look up ways to lose weight and you’ll find thousands of sites giving you all sorts of ways to lose weight from good ones to gimmicks that don’t actually work. Anyone who wants to know the easiest way to lose weight is probably not interested in doing anything too complicated like tracking calories or coming up with a workout regimen.
The real question is:
How Do I Lose Weight Without Doing Anything?
If you’re super lazy, enough to sit through a horrible movie just because you can’t be bothered to look for the remote, then the best way to lose weight is to simply eat less.
Eating involves getting up and doing stuff like preparing food and chewing. Not eating involves, well, nothing. You just sit there and take the hunger. It takes less physical effort than eating although mentally, it may be harder than just getting up and stuffing your mouth with junk food.
What is the Best Way to Lose Weight?
Here’s the secret to weight loss: If you’re 5 pounds overweight, lose 5 pounds.
It’s a lot easier to lose 5 pounds than to lose 20 pounds. If you never want to be in a position where you have a hard time losing weight, just don’t get too fat! That might sound a bit harsh but seriously, people who are 50 pounds overweight probably could’ve done something 45 pounds ago.
By letting your weight go out of control, you’ll only be making it harder on your future self to take that weight off. So the rule you should apply to your life is whenever you go over 5 pounds, do whatever it takes to lose it. How? Eat less. It’s not always easy to do but it’s important to take that extra weight off because the more you gain, the longer it will take you to get back down to your ideal weight.
What do you do if you’re already way over 5 pounds overweight? You lose it 5 pounds at a time.
A trick to help you stay on track is to allow yourself to gain 2.5 pounds for every 5 pounds you lose. It’s going to happen anyway so you might as well allow it to happen instead of having it happen, freaking out, getting discouraged, and end up gaining 10 pounds. As long as you’re losing some weight on a month to month basis, you’ll be on the right track.
Do You Have to Exercise to Lose Weight?
The short answer is, no. When you exercise, you burn more calories compared to not exercising. This will allow you to burn more fat and at the same time, eat more. In other words, if you want to eat a bit more and still lose weight, you need to exercise. If you don’t want to exercise, you need to cut down on your calories. If you want to lose fat faster, do both (eat less, exercise).
Exercising, of course, is also good for your overall health so you’ll want to do that too. You’ll feel better, have less stress, look younger, and have more energy. If you hate doing things like running, then find an activity you actually enjoy doing.
